Reduce no-shows with automatic reminders.

By Stromation · updated July 2026 · practical guide

Every no-show is a paid slot that earns nothing and cannot be resold. For anyone who runs on appointments, calls, or bookings, reminders are the cheapest revenue you will ever add, and they should be automatic.

Why people no-show (and how reminders fix it)

  • They forgot: a booking made a week ago falls off the radar. A reminder the day before fixes most of these.
  • Plans changed: a reminder with an easy way to reschedule saves the slot instead of losing it.
  • Cold feet: a warm, human-sounding nudge lowers the odds they quietly ghost.

The flow

  1. Trigger: a schedule in n8n looks ahead at upcoming bookings.
  2. Remind: it sends a friendly email or text 24 hours out, and optionally another an hour before.
  3. Reschedule: the reminder includes a one-tap link to move the time instead of bailing.
  4. Confirm: replies and confirmations are logged so you know who is actually coming.

Why it pays for itself: cutting no-shows even a little recovers whole appointments. One saved booking usually covers the cost of running this for months.
