AI inbox triage: let AI read your email first.

By Stromation · updated July 2026 · practical guide

For a solo operator the inbox is where the day goes to die. Most of what lands there is not urgent, but you have to read all of it to find the bit that is. An AI triage automation reads it for you and hands you only what matters.

What it does with each email

  • Sorts it: is this a real lead, a customer question, a bill, or noise? It labels each one.
  • Summarizes it: long threads get shrunk to a sentence so you know what is inside without opening it.
  • Flags the money: anything that looks like a paying customer or a hot lead gets pushed to the top.

The flow

  1. Trigger: new mail hits your inbox and n8n picks it up.
  2. Classify: Claude reads it and decides the category and how urgent it is.
  3. Summarize: it writes a one-line summary and, for leads, a suggested reply you can send in one tap (see AI lead follow-up).
  4. Deliver: once a day, or in real time for hot items, you get a clean triaged list instead of a wall of unread.

Why it matters: you stop being a full-time email reader and go back to being the person who does the work. The important stuff surfaces itself, and the noise stays quiet.

This pairs naturally with the morning digest, one calm briefing to start the day.
